Abstract
This article deals with the measurement and modelling of a latching solenoid containing permanent magnets. The aim of the research is to determine the flux linkage provided by the permanent magnets and the damping, which slows down the movement of the iron core. The differential equations of the electromechanical system are formulated from energy-based approach. In the proposed method, parameters to be identified are determined by drop tests and iterative simulations. The effect of hysteresis is also taken into account.
