Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyse the concept of corporate sustainable value (CSV), measure it and see its impact on financial performance of a company. In order to achieve this comprehensive objective, the methodological approach of this paper focuses on the conceptualization of the term based on a logical analysis, on the development of an evaluation model based on principal components analysis (PCA) and at the same time on the construction of multifactorial linear regressions, where the dependent variable is an indicator of financial performance and the independent variables are the determinants of sustainable corporate value. A structure of five factors was obtained as a final solution, through the factorial method. The findings also indicate that environmental performance, asset management, government relations, human capital productivity, financial management and sales growth are useful in predicting financial performance in the context of our analysis of STOXX Europe 50 index companies. By providing comparability and transparency at the company level, this model can contribute to the practical implementation of CSV assessment tools.
