Abstract

The present study explores the history and stratified literary formation of the biblical narrative concerning the legendary patriarch Jacob. It also examines a „conceptual invariant”, Bethel, a term linguistically expressed in various idioms, signifying a connection to a shared spirituality, particularly within the Ancient Near Eastern context, characterized by diffusionism and acculturation.
