Abstract

The article highlights the efforts of the renowned scholar Chrysanthos Notaras, Patriarch of Jerusalem, to articulate an Orthodox perspective through the printing of books in Arabic, as a response to the activities of missionaries sent by Rome to the Levant. Of particular significance are the discoveries regarding unknown or neglected editions published for this purpose with Notaras’s support in England in the early 18th century.
