Abstract
This article aims to contribute to the discussion on the secondary migration of Syrian citizens to neighbouring countries and the EU. The thesis of the article is to claim that conflict, which is driven by insecurity, causes the desire to move. The article uses several theoretical perspectives, the most important of which is Ibrahim Sirkeci and Jeffrey H. Cohen’s concept of uncertainty and aspiration. The article is divided into several related parts. In the first part, reference is made to secondary migration as a theoretical category, invoking the theories underlying it and the motives behind the gradual migration. The second part discusses the stages of secondary migration of Syrians highlighting the conflicts underlying the decision to relocate. The next part, in turn, is devoted to the migration of Syrians to neighbouring countries and the EU.
