Abstract

This paper is based on a comprehensive review of the academic literature concerning the adoption of new technologies in the airline industry and their impact on airline personnel. The research evaluates the effects of these technological developments on employees and analyzes how digitalization and automation have reshaped work processes and employee roles within airline companies. The integration of new technologies has become a key driver in improving operational efficiency, service quality, and overall organizational performance, while simultaneously generating significant changes in employees’ responsibilities, skill requirements and professional adaptation. The main objective of this paper is to analyze the effects of technological innovation on airline personnel, with a particular focus on work organization, employee performance, and the challenges associated with technological transformation. The analysis highlights both the opportunities and the risks arising from technology adoption, including increased productivity, enhanced decision-making as well as challenges related to job redesign, workload, training needs, and resistance to change.

The study made use of existing data from a research conducted by the company, in order to assess their perceptions of technological change in aviation and the extent to which technological adoption influences their professional activity.

In the context of rapid technological advancement and increasing competition in the airline industry, understanding the impact of new technologies on human resources has become essential for sustainable organizational development. The paper contributes to the existing literature by offering insights into how airline companies can balance technological innovation with workforce adaptation, emphasizing the importance of continuous training, effective change management, and employee engagement. Future research may further explore employees’ perceptions of technological change and identify strategies to enhance workforce resilience in an increasingly digitalized industry.
