Paradigm Shift in Environmental Governance Cover

Abstract

As global warming and environmental damage continue to weigh on the planet and people’s lives, some public policies aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions and preserving biodiversity are beginning to be called into question; obstacles are multiplying. How can we address them? Climate scepticism, Trumpism, and science denial: these headwinds spread lies, sow doubt, and fuel discord. In a difficult geopolitical and economic context, what might their effects be on public opinion and political choices? Should we fear a risk of contagion? Is there a broader current of climate scepticism, or is it an isolated voice? In this article, we will attempt to analyse whether this is a misinterpretation of scientific data, a political error, or simple cynicism.
