Digitalisation and Social Media Implications for the Labour Market and Career Choice
Abstract
The transformations brought about by digitalization are profoundly influencing the way individuals interact with the labor market, and social networks are becoming central actors in the career guidance process. The theme of this research explores the impact of digitalization and social networks on career choice and the integration of young people into the labor market. In a context marked by accelerated change, social networks facilitate access to information, opportunities and models of success, but also generate challenges related to the authenticity and relevance of the content. The methodology used is based on the application of a questionnaire addressed to young people, in order to identify the perceptions and practices through which they define their professional path in the digital age. Statistical analysis using a multiple linear regression model shows that it is not simply the use of social networks, but their strategic and professionally oriented use that contributes significantly to the development of skills for the labor market. The expected results aim to highlight the degree of influence of social networks in the career decision and in the process of integration into the labor market. The paper aims to contribute to the understanding of the role that digitalization has in shaping new occupational trends and in contemporary socio-professional dynamics.
