Organizational Innovation and Green Intellectual Capital: Integrated Perspectives on Organizational Performance and Competitiveness

Growing environmental challenges and stakeholder pressure have intensified scholarly interest in studying organizational innovation and green intellectual capital (GIC) through the lens of organizational performance and competitiveness, considering them as key elements. Even if the literature addressing these concepts has expanded rapidly lately, existing research remains fragmented across academic fields, limiting a broader understanding on how organizational innovation and GIC are connected and contribute to sustainable competitiveness of organizations. This paper addresses the gap by conducting a bibliometric analysis on the existing scientific literature about organizational innovation and green intellectual capital offering integrated perspectives on the organizational performance and competitiveness. The data used is retrieved from Web of Science Core Collection and following a PRISMA guided screening process, the paper applies bibliometric methods to understand publication trends, core sources, authorship patterns and intellectual structure of the field. The findings suggest that this research field is expanding rapidly and it has attracted scholars from different academic areas. Publications are concentrated in a few leading journals but the topic benefits from contributions from a wide range of authors. The analysis also revealed that the organizational innovation is usually seen as the main pathway which connects green intellectual capital with performance and competitive results.
