Risk Aversion: A Bibliometric Analysis Cover

Abstract

This study conducts a bibliometric analysis of risk-aversion research from 1967 to 2024, examining 2,126 articles from 883 academic journals using Bibliometrix. Employing co-occurrence word analysis, co-citation analysis, collaboration network mapping, and factorial analysis, it identifies key themes, influential works, and emerging trends. Findings show that financial crises, digital finance, and sustainable investing have gained prominence, reflecting the field’s dynamism. Emerging trends include merging behavioral finance with digital technologies and connections among gender, financial literacy, and technology. Significant gaps remain in understanding cultural and regional variations in risk-aversion, especially in underrepresented regions such as Africa, South Asia, and South America. By revealing these trends, the study emphasizes the need for a more nuanced understanding of risk-aversion research, highlighting the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration and greater global diversity to address complexities of financial decision-making in 21st-century, and offers policy guidance for educators and regulators to improve decision-making and equitable inclusion globally.
