Employee Learning Settings and Digital Adaptation in Romanian Organizations
Abstract
In the contemporary economic scenario, digital transformation has evolved from being a strategic decision to an essential solution for ensuring organizational survival. This paper explores the determinants of digital adaptation among Romanian employees, focusing on the relationship between demographic factors, organizational roles, and preferred learning settings. Using quantitative research design, data was collected from a sample of 190 professionals from various fields. The research investigates research hypotheses containing variables such as age, hierarchical position, methods of training or organizational profile to identify patterns in digital transformation readiness and programs preferences. The results emerge as the overall population has certain divisions considering the variables, but it also contradicts traditional stereotypes. Thus, no significant differences were found between age or hierarchical level and the pace of digital adaptation. However, an important preference for practical, case-study-based learning and short-term training sessions stands out as essential for successful transition. Moreover, the findings suggest that organizational resilience depends on human-centric management rather than only technical implementations. Additionally, this study provides a strategic framework for managers to adapt training programs to employee preferences with an emphasis on the idea that involvement and practice are the most important factors for overcoming digital impediments in the context of the Romanian environment. Ultimately, the findings of the paper imply that transforming technological challenges into mutually beneficial possibilities for growth and sustainability over time.
