Digitalization and Competitive Advantage in European Digital Ecosystems Cover

Abstract

The study focuses on the role of digitization in competitive advantage within European digital ecosystems. Digitization changes the way organizations function and influences their processes. New digital technologies generate opportunities for change and innovation, operational efficiency, and economic development. The research analyzes the literature on digital transformation, organizational performance, risk management, educational management, and conflict management, highlighting their importance in the implementation of digitization. Previous studies have shown that digital technologies improve performance and strengthen competitive advantage. At the same time, research highlights the importance of digital skills and capabilities in anticipating risks and conflict handling competencies. The quantitative approach in this study analyzed the relationship between digital ecosystem variables and competitive advantage indicators in 29 European countries. Data were collected from secondary Eurostat databases and analyzed using Pearson and Spearman correlation coefficients.

The results show a positive correlation between digital skills and e-commerce sales, suggesting that digital skills are supported in the integration of the digital market. The advantages of digitization over competitive advantage are indirect and can be observed in the long term.

The paper contributes by highlighting the importance of digital techniques in European digital ecosystems and emphasizes the role of education in organizational cultures. At the same time, it is important to understand what risk management includes and how conflicts are managed in order to create a supportive environment for digitization processes.
