Human-Centricity in Industry 5.0: A Bibliometric Mapping Study

The transition to Industry 5.0 has intensified scientific research interest in one of the three pillars of this new paradigm, such as the human-centric dimension, which highlights the way in which orientation towards humans redefines the relationship between workers and advanced technologies, underlining the complementarity among humans’ way of thinking and systems like artificial intelligence, digital twin, collaborative robots, or cyber-physical systems. The methodological approach used in this study is a bibliometric analysis. The database used is Web of Science Core Collection. The exported dataset consists of scientific articles that were selected based on a query and published between 2022 and 2026. Then, the analysis of the exported and filtered dataset was conducted in the VOSviewer software to generate the co-occurrence of keywords, co-citations for sources and authors, and bibliographic coupling maps. The overview of the analyzed corpus and the results reveal different perspectives of human-centricity within Industry 5.0, authors, and notable publications, as well as thematic clusters relevant to the topic of this research. This paper contributes to the academic literature by identifying and analyzing different types of human-centricity and offers a conceptual understanding that can support future theoretical and practical developments.
