Abstract

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) offer Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) a comprehensive and systematic approach to solving major global concerns. SMEs may help to eradicate poverty, promote gender equality, ensure sustainable production and consumption, and address other vital concerns by aligning their business plans with the 17 SDGs. Studies showed that SMEs account for 99% of businesses and employ 66% of Romania's workers, which emerge as critical tools for SDG implementation. Thus, the paper focuses on the adoption of SDGs within SMEs and strategically categorizes key factors into three dimensions: People, Profit, and Planet. The research was conducted with the help of a survey, which was analyzed using Microsoft Excel. The results revealed the need to encourage the promotion and adoption of the SDGs for future generations. The study can be a starting point of the analysis that is done by states, regions or at a national level.
