The exploitation of andesite in open-pit mining must adhere to the specific provisions of Romanian mining law, which emphasizes environmental protection and sustainable resource management. This study focuses on integrating mine planning with environmental assessment and rehabilitation works to ensure compliance with legal requirements. The research examines how comprehensive environmental assessments can guide the design of effective rehabilitation strategies, minimizing the ecological footprint of andesite extraction. Key aspects include land reclamation, restoration, and post-mining land use planning. The findings underscore the importance of aligning mining operations with Romanian legal standards to promote sustainable development and responsible resource extraction.
