Abstract

As a result of the combustion products’ temperature drop below the dew point, numerous power industry units face corrosion problems due to condensed acids. Large corrosion attacks and defects appear namely at air heaters, economisers, fume ducts and also in chimneys. The automatic system for continuous combustion products’ dew point monitoring in the combustion equipment is developed in SVÚM, a.s. The study summarises results from the preparation phase of pilot operation in a coal power station.
