First record of the scale insect Parlatoria camelliae Comstock (Hemiptera: Coccomorpha: Diaspididae) in Greece

Abstract

The scale insect Parlatoria camelliae Comstock (Hemiptera: Coccomorpha: Diaspididae) is recorded for the first time in Greece οn 12 August 2024. It was found on Camellia japonica L. (Theaceae: Ericales) in Chalkidiki. From preliminary studies it was found that P. camelliae is an oviparous, bipa-rental species.
