Abstract
The scale insect Lineaspis striata (Newstead) (Hemiptera: Coccomorpha: Diaspididae) was recorded for the first time infesting a species of the family Pinaceae. Heavily infested ornamental shrubs of Picea glauca “Conica” by pre-ovipostiting and oviposting female adults of L. striata, were found in March 2018 and by a minor population consisting of pre-ovipositing female adults in February 2021, in Attica, Greece. The scale was settled on the base of the needles of the host plant.
