Worship, Doctrine and Mission: The Contribution of Geoffrey Wainwright to a Developing Methodist Theology
Abstract
The purpose of this paper is threefold. First, it aims to honour the contribution made to Methodist scholarship, ecumenical dialogue and Christian theology by Geoffrey Wainwright. Second, it will set out some of the key elements in Wainwright’s work and suggest how these very diverse enterprises might cohere. Finally, it will propose that eschatology and mission are twin themes that point to a lasting legacy for Wainwright’s work.
