Abstract

Global aging underscores the need to address complex health challenges in elderly patients with chronic diseases. Intrinsic capacity (IC) provides a multidimensional framework covering cognitive, psychological, vitality, locomotion, and sensory domains. Among elderly patients with chronic conditions, IC plays a critical role in influencing both quality of life and clinical outcomes. Therefore, this article summarizes research progress on the current status of IC in elderly patients with chronic diseases.
