Abstract
The aim of the study was to identify the risks to communication activities carried out in the event of accidents or industrial breakdowns. The focus group interview was attended by information policy management specialists, journalists, and an interdisciplinary team of energy and chemical companies’ employees. The experts who participated in the project identified the areas of coordination, competence, and logistics as weak points of rescue operations. Failures in these areas can also affect the effectiveness of the communication process. In addition, good practices were identified in the field of technology, tools, and procedures for communicating information on industrial accidents and emergencies.
