Abstract
This study examines the development, structure, and role of military chaplaincy in Slovenia, contextualizing it within broader European and NATO military chaplaincy systems. Drawing on an international survey conducted in 2023–2024 as part of the German Research Foundation (DFG) project “Military Chaplaincy in Europe” at the University of Hamburg, the article investigates the historical legacies, organizational models, and current functions of chaplaincy across selected NATO member states. Special emphasis is placed on how post-socialist Slovenia, as a NATO member since 2004, has developed its chaplaincy structures in comparison with longer-standing NATO members.
