Recognition of Foreign Administrative Acts in the Baltic States and Digitalisation Perspectives
Abstract
The recognition of foreign administrative acts has been well studied in the Nordic countries, but has received little attention in the Baltic legal literature. This article identifies the main concepts of recognition of foreign administrative acts under international and European Union law, and analyses the recognition in the context of the Baltic States. The article elaborates on possible opportunities and conditions to enhance mutual recognition of foreign administrative acts beyond the recognition mechanisms under European Union law, as well as to broaden the perspectives of digitalisation in the recognition of foreign administrative acts in the Baltic States.
