Catalytic Effect of Mo-Al2O3-PTSA on the Synthesis of 4,5-Dihydro-3-(naphthalen-6-yl)-1-phenyl-5-(thiophen-2-yl)-1H-pyrazoline
Abstract
The heterogeneous Mo-Al2O3-PTSA catalyst was used for the synthesis of 4,5-dihydro-3-(naphthalen-6-yl)-1-phenyl-5-(thiophen-2-yl)-1H-pyrazoline by one-pot three-component condensation cum cyclization process of 2-acetylnaphthalene, thiophene-2-carbaldehyde and phenyl hydrazine hydrochloride under conventional method. This condensation-cyclization reaction exhibits good yield of product and the solid catalyst was recycled. The newly synthesized 1H-pyrazoline was confirmed by physico-chemical parameters, analytical, and spectral (FT-IR, 1H,13C NMR& mass) analysis. Also, in this synthetic approach, the effect of catalysts and solvents on the reaction yield was examined.
