Abstract

HIV/AIDS remains one of the greatest global health challenges, affecting millions of people worldwide. Realizing the seriousness of the situation, various strategies were designed and implemented, aiming to mitigate the impact of the disease and, finally, to eradicate it. Although these strategies have produced remarkable progress over time, a new category is emerging, the aging population with HIV. Cardiovascular pathology is increasingly common in young population with HIV infection, aged due to the presence of this virus and the antiretroviral therapy instituted for decades. Cardiovascular risk scores are useful for the general population, but for HIV patients, they need to be adapted. The aim of this study was to evaluate cardiovascular risk scores used in HIV patients from Dobrogea regional center, in the records of the Clinical Hospital of Infectious Diseases in Constanța.
