Abstract
We determined the height of the lumbar vertebral bodies on a number of 116 female patients with osteoporosis, who presented for lumbar pain in the endocrinology and medical rehabilitation outpatient clinic, over a period of 3 years. We observed a gradual increase in the average height only at the level of the fi rst three lumbar vertebrae, after which the average height decreased gradually at the level of the last two lumbar vertebrae.
