Abstract
Our current animal husbandry has to meet many conditions, e.g. animal welfare, disease control, environmental protection and of course sustainable economic operation. When modernizing traditional farms or building new farms, if we implement closed housing (pigs, poultry, rabbits), one of the most important factors is to create a microclimate condition close to the environmental optimum for the animal (temperature, humidity, air exchange). Air handling equipment is now available for animal husbandry and can replace previous heating, cooling and ventilation solutions, and their operation can be fully automated. The aim of the work was to theoretically assemble an air handling unit consisting of modular elements, suitable for livestock farms.
