Abstract
The retirement of two academic orthodontists, and the imminent retirement of a third, from Australian dental schools is a crucial co-incidence. Decisions are soon to be made which will affect the future course of the Specialty, therefore, it was felt that a record of the achievements and ideas of the retirees should be made. They are Professors M. Sims of the University of Adelaide and K. Godfrey of the University of Sydney, and Associate Professor V. West of the University of Melbourne. They have kindly consented to be interviewed by the editor of this Journal, Dr. Brian Lee. A transcription of the interviews with Professors Sims and Godfrey follows in this issue. Associate Professor West’s interview will be published in Volume 13, Number 1.
