Abstract
This paper examines the role of intercultural communication skills from the perspective of ESP classes. It highlights the need and benefits of incorporating this valuable skill in the language learning process. Acquiring the IC skill is a necessity for students as they have to perform adequately when interacting with individuals who are both linguistically and culturally different from them. Once equipped with this ’fifth’ skill, the students increase their chances of employability in today’s highly globalized world.
