From Industrial Arts to Technology Education: The Eclipse of Purpose
Abstract
This is the final article in a three-part series examining the historical relationship between industrial arts and technology education. The previous two articles, appearing in Volume XXII, Number 1, Winter/Spring 1996, and Volume XXIII, Number 1, Winter/Spring 1997, examined the curricular underpinnings of industrial arts from the 1930s to 1970s, and the historical and conceptual relationship to technology education. This article focuses on the subsequent development of technology education from the 1980s to the present. JS
