ICT inbedden in de politieorganisatie: Spelsimulatie als ontwikkelomgeving voor nieuwe kennisdelingsprocessen
By: Joeri van Laere
Abstract
This article presents an interactive approach for development and adoption of ICT in organizations. In an action research study in the Amsterdam Police Force is shown how gaming-simulation can be used to explore how future work processes, future ICT and future organizational context interfere and how they can be adapted to one and another. The case shows that 9 occurrences of a simulation-game result in numerous recommendations for adaptations to the original design of technology, work methods and organizational context. Such an approach may produce a more structural embedding of ICT in the police organization and may simultaneously lead to a critical reflection on current work methods.
