Abstract
What is the value of presence approach in reflecting on palliative care? That’s the central question of this article. The basic principles of the presence approach, extensively elaborated in ‘Een theorie van de presentie’, are explained. The author identifies three issues palliative patients are confronted with and argues that a presence approach can help them solve these issues. By doing so, it will become clear that presence approach offers a good foundation for palliative care and that in fact all good palliative care shows signs of ‘presence’.
