Hitler’s visit to Immola in Eastern Finland on 4 June 1942 has provided an extraordinary document for historical research as Yleisradio partly recorded on reel-to-reel the discussions in Mannerheim’s private railroad car during the encounter. The so-called ‘secret’ Hitler audio tape is believed to be the only existing sound recording containing the Reichskanzler’s voice in a more or less informal situation, where he is not performing in front of an audience.
