La Comisión Nacional sobre la Desaparición de Personas en Argentina ¿Sólo una comisión oficial de personalidades?

Este artículo analiza la investigación de la Comisión Nacional sobre la Desaparición de Personas (CONADEP) creada en Argentina en 1983 por el presidente constitucional Raúl Alfonsín para investigar la desaparición forzada de personas. Propone que el éxito de la investigación de la CONADEP fue producto de una alianza tácita entre la mayoría del movimiento de derechos humanos y el gobierno de Alfonsín. Así, el artículo postula una interpretación diferente a la dominante hasta ahora sobre la naturaleza y el éxito de la CONADEP, caracterizada exclusivamente en los trabajos anteriores sobre este tema como una comisión oficial de personalidades notables.

This paper analyzes the research of the National Commission on Disappeared People (CONADEP), created in Argentina in 1983 by the constitutional president Raúl Alfonsín, in order to investigate the issue of forced disappearances. The paper proposes that the success of the research of the CONADEP was a product of a tacit alliance between the majority of the Human Rights movement and the government of Alfonsín. In this way, the article proposes a different interpretation from the one that has until now been dominating concerning the nature and success of the CONADEP, which is characterized exclusively by earlier works on this topic as an official commission of notable personalities.
