Economic Growth in Haiti: A Mere Illusion? Cover
By:
Open Access
|Jun 2006

Abstract

In Haiti, real per capita income has been falling for at least half a
century, probably more. The country continues to be the poorest – by far –
in the Western Hemisphere, and the political history is no better. On the
contrary, it can only be called dismal, and this state of affairs has
unfortunately had a pronounced negative impact on growth and
development.
