Of modems and pixie dust – blockchain demystified

Abstract

We often hear from enthusiasts about the revolutionary potential of blockchain, the technology that underlies the Bitcoin virtual currency. But what can we really do with blockchain, and what possible perils and pitfalls exist? In this article I will look at a few potential blockchain use cases that are relevant to libraries and librarians, and clear up some blockchain myths and misconceptions.
