Abstract
Through the ages, Christian medical missions have worked tirelessly in areas of need, putting faith into works. Well-functioning institutions grow organically, and as they do, so do their needs and the number of people depending on them. Ensuring the survival of the institution then requires significant resources. Prayers change.
In a busy Christian medical institution, a chaplain fervently prayed for the sick to be healed. The following narrative, in the form of fiction, traces the answer to that prayer to its possible logical end.
