A simplified mathematical theory of MHD power generators
Abstract
We present a simplified version of the Faraday magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) generators theory. The effect of the Loretz force against the fluid ow is neglected, whence it follows the uniform ow of the plasma. We use Lazăr Dragoș’s analytic solution for the electric potential and perform some numerical calculations in order to obtain the useful output power of a generator connected to an external resistive circuit.
