As I'm sure you've noticed, the journal looks a bit different this issue. I am excited to share with you the new look of the Methodist DeBakey Cardiovascular Journal. We've traded the familiar blue cover for a fresh, modern face and will continue to provide the outstanding review articles you've come to expect—with even more to explore. The refresh of the print edition is just the beginning; we hope you will check out our brand new website, journal.houstonmethodist.org, and take advantage of its expanded interactive content, including:

  • Case of the Month: Interactive modules explore unique cases and test readers' diagnostic skills (CME credit available)

  • Clinical Perspectives: Our online collection of supplemental articles for the practicing clinician, featuring Points to Remember and Excerpta (interviews with review article authors taking a closer look at the clinical applications of current research)

  • State of Healthcare: Expert opinions on current issues in the business of health care

  • Trainee Corner: An online home for trainees and junior physicians, with guest articles, job boards, and links to core educational content from the DeBakey Institute of Cardiovascular Education & Training

  • Dialogue with Authors: Discussion forum for readers to converse with authors about review article topics; authors will be available to take questions for 1 month after each issue is published

In addition, the new site makes it even easier to get CME credit for journal articles and links readers to relevant educational content—including videos and online courses—from our partners at DeBakey Education. I encourage you to register on the site to access all the interactive features.

These changes come after nearly 2 years of research and design, all beginning with readership surveys and focus groups. You asked for greater accessibility and more educational content, and we listened. We're grateful for your feedback and hope you enjoy the refreshed Methodist DeBakey Cardiovascular Journal. As always, please feel free to send us your comments at mdcvj@houstonmethodist.org. I look forward to hearing from you.
