On spectral multiplication as viewed in physical space
Abstract
The properties of spectral multiplication as viewed in physical space are investigated. A multiplication matrix is defined which permits the unaliased multiplication of two grid-point fields. Use of the multiplication matrix is less efficient than the transform method but does permit the investigation of the non-localness of spectral multiplication.
