By: Luke Millaway, Jeremy Olson, Aurora Shuster and Lacey Nichols
Abstract
This project was done to investigate the various applications of coumarins and effect of various functional groups and their effect on bacterial growth. Various compounds have been produced through aldol condensation mechanisms. The compounds will undergo testing but are planned to be used in antimicrobial susceptibility testing for both gram negative and positive bacteria. The current end goals of this study are to see the effects of these coumarin products to provide antimicrobial characteristics
