Administration is the only refereed journal exclusively dedicated to the publication of high-quality academic articles on Irish public administration and public policy. It covers public administration and policy in Ireland, Northern Ireland, and both jurisdictions in a comparative context. Administration is the official journal of the Institute of Public Administration, Ireland’s public service development organisation.

Founded in 1953, Administration has served a constituency of academics, students, journalists and public practitioners. The journal seeks to combine original scholarship on public administration from a variety of disciplines with the insights and experiences of practitioners.
